The Solutionary Lifestyle: A Journey from Black Guns Matter

The Solutionary Lifestyle didn’t just appear out of thin air; it grew organically from the mission of Black Guns Matter (BGM). At its core, BGM was founded to educate people about gun safety and the Second Amendment, creating a community that understands their rights and responsibilities. This focus on education became the first step in a larger conversation about self-reliance, personal empowerment, and the importance of community action.

How Gun Safety Leads to Broader Awareness

Through our free gun safety classes, we realized that teaching individuals how to handle firearms responsibly opened doors to discussions about deeper issues—like the pitfalls of relying solely on government solutions. Many of our students began to understand that true security and safety come from within their communities, not just from external authorities.

This shift in perspective was crucial. It encouraged people to question the status quo and think about how they could take charge of their own lives and influence those around them. By equipping individuals with knowledge about their rights and skills for self-defense, we sparked a movement towards grassroots activism and community building.

The Call for Community and Grassroots Action

As BGM expanded, so did our understanding of what it means to be a Solutionary. It’s about more than just gun safety; it’s about cultivating a proactive mindset. We realized that to tackle the real issues facing our communities—like violence, crime, and disinformation—we need to build strong networks of support.

This means:

  • Collaboration: The Solutionary Lifestyle emphasizes the importance of working together. It’s about voluntary support, sharing knowledge, and and joining forces to create safer environments.

  • Community: We learned that true strength comes from local action. By promoting connections among community members, we can create a solid foundation for tackling challenges head-on.

  • Dialogue: Education doesn’t stop at gun safety. We encourage conversations about personal responsibility, self-reliance, and the importance of understanding the systems that impact our lives. The more informed we are, the better decisions we can make as individuals and communities.

Key Principles of the Solutionary Lifestyle

This led to the development of key principles that define the Solutionary Lifestyle:

  • Respect: Building a strong community starts with mutual respect. We honor each other's rights and support open dialogue, creating a culture of respect.

  • Discipline: The commitment to self-improvement and community involvement requires discipline. We consistently show up and put in the effort.

  • Focus: We stay on track with our personal and collective goals, keeping our eyes on what truly matters.

  • Confidence: We know our rights and capabilities. We’re empowered to take action and lead when necessary.

  • Safety: We prioritize safety, looking out for ourselves and each other to create a secure environment.

  • Leadership: We step up and lead by example, showing others what it means to be a Solutionary through action and inspiration.

The Bigger Picture

The Solutionary Lifestyle embodies the spirit of independence and resilience. It’s about taking ownership of your life and your community, advocating for your rights, and refusing to be passive in the face of challenges.

By integrating the lessons learned from Black Guns Matter into a broader mission of self-reliance and community engagement, we focus on being proactive rather than reactive. It’s about creating lasting change through education, teamwork, and grassroots action.

The Three Components of the Solutionary Lifestyle

The Solutionary Lifestyle includes three core components:

  1. The Solutionary Center in Philadelphia focuses on teaching essential skills, including gun safety, Stop the Bleed, civics, sewing, and more, to make individuals more productive and capable.

  2. The Solutionary University, an online platform that offers courses on personal development, civic engagement, and various life skills to equip individuals and promote advancement.

  3. The Solutionary 9, an exclusive coaching and accountability group that provides support and resources for those committed to personal development in areas such as health, fitness, marksmanship, relationships, skills, and more.

The journey doesn’t stop here. As we continue to grow and evolve, we invite you to join us in embracing the Solutionary Lifestyle—because together, we can make a difference.
